William J. Colson, Jr. - Age 89 of Hendersonville passed away May 31, 2014.
Mr. Colson was a brilliant man that loved to read, recite & write poetry with a personality that had never met a stranger. He was proud veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps in WWII. He also was a devote Christian that was a member of Sandersville Methodist Church. He loved University of Alabama Football and idolized Bear Bryant. He was a loving husband and father who loved children.
Preceded in death by his wife, Judith Carroll Colson; parents, Ernie Hall Colson & William J. Colson; sisters, Jeanne, Birdie Ellen & Alla Mae; brothers, Rudy & Robert "Bob". Survived by children, Wystan Colson, Jeff Chandler (Debbie) & Janet Harvey; grandchildren, Joe Colson, Jennifer Colson, Christina Colson, Nicole Kemper (Jeff), Jeffrey Chandler, Jr., Dustin Chandler, & Andrew Harvey; great-grandchildren, Preston Colson, Matthew Colson, Josh Kemper & Alex Kemper; several nieces, nephews & extended family members.
A Life Celebration will be held 2pm Tuesday at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Military Honors.
