Floyd M. Bentley, 88, (affectionately known as "Big Flo"), passed away January 11, 2006 of natural causes at the Care Source Hospice Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Floyd and his wife, Mary Lou, moved to Salt Lake City to be with family, but never gave up missing Aurora and all their friends.Floyd worked at Stephens-Adamson as personnel director and decided the city needed an employment agency. He opened Bentley Employment Agency in the late 50's with his slogan being, "Unemployed, Call Floyd." During career, he placed thousands of people in jobs in the Fox Valley area, many times while playing golf, his "home office." He severed Aurora well on various clubs and committees and at one time, was Liquor Commissioner on the Kane County Board. He served as first Sergeant at Ft. Wareen in Cheyenne, Wyoming during the war and finished his tour of duty in Germany. His family always said after arriving back in the states on the S.S. Sea Robin; he immediately went directly to the Aurora Country Club and signed up. Floyd belonged to the club for 56 years as golf was his great passion. He loved the game; he loved to play, loved to teach, and loved to help the caddies learn the rules and courtesies of the game. Because of the golf friendship he formed, he was invited to play many of the famous golf courses in the United States and Europe. This was a great pleasure for him and he told wonderful stories about his travels.

Floyd is survived by MaryLou, his wife of 63 years; his son, Bill and wife Penny; daughters, Annabel and Betsy Christopher and her husband, John; grandchildren, Pat, Brian, Conor, Emily and Madeline.

If you wish to remember Floyd, donations should be sent to Evans Scholars Foundation C/O Western golf Assoc., 1 Briar Rd. Golf, Illinois 60029. This fund helps deserving caddies to go to college.

Floyd's family will remember him with great love and in our minds; he is up in golf heaven helping God with his back swing. Sometime this summer, we will have a gathering of friends for Floyd and will notify the Beacon with details.Floyd M.
