Tyzzer, Eloise B. 09/18/1919 ~ 05/05/2014 SAN DIEGO -- Eloise Tyzzer passed away peacefully at her home in Point Loma at the age of 94. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles and Helen Bradley. She was the youngest of three children, adored by her sister, Helen and brother, Charles. Eloise was a scholar from an early age, graduating from high school at 16 and from college at 19. She was a proud member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Mu Sorority at Washington University, where she also met her future husband and love of her life, Robert Neal Tyzzer Jr. Eloise began her teaching career in St. Louis but soon married Robert in 1941. The newlyweds moved to San Diego where Robert served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Their son, Bob was born as WWII ended, and after settling in Point Loma they welcomed their daughter, Betsey. In 1963, Mrs. Tyzzer resumed her teaching career in the primary grades at Cabrillo and later Barnard Schools. She loved her profession and was highly respected for her teaching skills. After her retirement, Mrs. Tyzzer enjoyed reading, gardening and sewing. Her greatest joy always came from being with her family. She will be greatly missed by her son, Bob; daughter, Betsey; grandchildren, Karen, Laura, Andy, Brian and Elissa; and four great-grandchildren. Interment will be at Fort Rosecrans with her beloved husband Bob who passed away in 2004 after 62 years of marriage.
