He was a native of Hamilton, Mass., and followed the sea removed to Moultonborough, N.H., being one of the earliest settlers of that town; Thence he removed to this town where he lived until his death which occurred Oct. 1819, aged 73 years. He was the first tenant of this Graveyard. This stone is erected by his son Ira Adams. Will posterity see that it is perpetuated."
