James A. Frick, 87, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Irwin, died Monday, April 10, 2006, in Excela Westmoreland Hospital. He was born June 26, 1918, in Irwin, a son of the late George D. and Catharine Kim Frick and was also preceded in death by a brother, George Frick. He was a retired employee of Westinghouse Electric Corp., East Pittsburgh, and also was self-employed as James A. Frick General Contracting. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, a member of the 29th Infantry Division Association; and a member of VFW Post 781, North Huntingdon. He is survived by his wife, Bertha D. Loutsenhiser (DeWalt) Frick; two sons, James D. "Jay" Frick and his wife, Jeanne, of Hunker, and Jerry M. Frick and his wife, Carol, of Greensburg; three grandchildren, John D. Frick, Janine Schott and James J. Frick; and a great-grandson, Joshua G. Frick. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, 724-863-1200, where a funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Claudia B. Papenmeier officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Irwin Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon. Those wishing may contribute to the Alzheimer's Association, 100 W. Station Square Drive, Suite 500, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
