Bertha D. Frick, 88, formerly of Irwin and North Huntingdon, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born March 13, 1921, in Pitcairn, a daughter of the late John and Agnes Lentz DeWalt, and was also preceded in death by her husband, James A. Frick, two brothers and a sister. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Irwin, and the Red Hatters. Surviving are children, Jay Frick and his wife, Jeanne, of Hunker, and Jerry Frick and his wife, Carol, of Greensburg; grandchildren, John D. (Debbie) Frick, Janine (Paul) Schott and James J. (Jennifer) Frick; and great-grandchildren, Joshua Frick and Jessica and Jason Schott. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, 724-863-1200, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Nancy Mears officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon. Those wishing may contribute to the American Lung Association .
