TUSCALOOSA | Sarah Nevin Philpot, age 92, of Tuscaloosa, died May 31, 2014, at Heritage Health Care. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, a Circlewood Baptist Church with Dr. Herb Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Circlewood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Minnie Nevin; husband, Jessie Philpot; son, Larry Philpot; brothers, G. W. and Evie Nevin; sisters, Louella McKinney, Evelyn Neighbors and Hattie Montgomery.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Philpot (Amy) of Moores Bridge; sister, Eileen Graves of Palm Harbor, Fla.; grandson, Ronald Philpot (Amie) of Huntsville; and great-grandchildren, Noah and Olivia Philpot.
To some she was simply Sarah. To others she was Mother, Aunt Sarah, Queenie or just Philpot. To all she will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, cherished loved one and faithful friend. Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Taylor, Chad Green, Chester Johnson, Jamie Oswalt, Richard Pannell and Charles Wayne McKinney.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Burkes Corder, Circlewood Baptist Church, Lakewood Baptist Church, Heritage Healthcare & Rehab, and employees of Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home.
