Allie Gertrude Williams Carter, 94, of Gate City went to be with the Lord on Thursday night (Dec 29, 2011) at the Brian Center
She was a lifelong resident of Scott County. Mrs. Carter was a member of Copper Creek Community Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great grandmother who was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball with her husband and son.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, George Franklin Carter; parents, Bryan and Cora Pendleton Williams, a brother Odel Williams, her sister, Estelle Carter and a sister-in-law Virgie Williams.
Allie Carter is survived by her daughters, Coleen Darnell and Husband, Ron, Wanda Ervin and husband Buford, sons, Donald Carter and wife, Jerri, Ronald Carter and wife, Queenie, Greg Carter and wife Dinah; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a special nephew, Larry (Johnni) Carter.
A graveside service will follow on Monday Jan 2, 2013 at Holston View Cemetery with R. Don Hanshew Officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pall bearers.
