Funeral service for Gerald I. Bjork, 49, of Pyrites, will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Park St. Canton at 10:00am with Rev. Douglas Lucia, officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Plains Cemetery. Gerald died on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the Fletcher-Allen Medical Center, Burlington, VT.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Pyrites Volunteer Fire and First Responder Unit.
Surviving Gerald are his wife, Tammy and daughter Shelby of Canton; brothers, Charles Bjork and wife Karen of Canton; Robert Bjork of Naples, NY; and a sister Debbie Garland and husband Danny of Cincinnati, OH; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gerald was born April 18, 1962 in Ogdensburg, the son of the late Roy and Betty (Willard) Bjork. He attended Canton Schools. Gerald worked for Canton College in the Buildings and Grounds department. He married Tammy Flanders in Norwood on June 6, 1992.
