Hattie Kauble Passes At 85
Mrs. Hattie E. Kauble, 85, of Rt. 7, Box 1822, Modesto, passed away Thursday morning in a Modesto hospital.
She was a native of Jeddo, Mich., and the wife of the late M.W. Kauble of Lodi. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Annes of Lodi.
While her husband served as principal of the Fox River Academy at Sheridan, Ill., she acted as preceptress. She also served as preceptress at the Oswego Industrial Academy of Oswego, Kan.
Before coming to Lodi in 1925, she was matron of Campion Academy in Loveland, Colo. Following her arrival here, she was preceptress at the Lodi Academy for two years. She was a life time member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She was the mother of the late Mrs. Lila Kauble Meade of Lodi and Mrs. Ethna Bailey of Stockton. She was also the mother-in-law of Oscar Meade of Willows. She leaves three grandchildren and a niece.
The deceased lived in Lodi until four years ago. At that time she moved to Modesto where she has made her home with friends.
