Bobbie Lee "Jewel" Blount, age 89 of Stephens, AR passed away Sunday, June 01, 2014 at the Little Rock Central VA Hospital. He was a proud World War II Veteran of the United State Navy and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Assembly of God Church. He was born August 17, 1924 in Wheelen Springs, AR to William and Maggie Blount.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Walters Blount; son, Larry Blount; parents, William and Maggie Blount; and grandson, Jeremy Wayne Blount.
He is survived by his three sons, Bobby W. Bount and wife, Susan of Huntsville, AL, Jerry Blount and wife, Lavina of Stephens, AR and Danny Blount and wife, Pamela of Blossom, TX; daughter, Debra Blount Laney and husband, Sid of Camden, AR; three grandsons, Bobby C. Blount and wife, Jennifer of Portland, TN, James Blount of Huntsville, AL and Daniel Blount and wife, Julie of Blossom, TX; four granddaughters, Elizabeth Blount Clark and husband, Jason of Madison, AL, Katie Blount Dieringer and husband, Derek of Kerrville, TX, Lauren Laney Williams and husband, Kevin of Little Rock, AR; and Macy Laney of Fayetteville, AR; a niece, Becky Trevillion an husband, Jay; three great grandsons; six great granddaughters; and one great great granddaughter.
Funeral services for Mr. Blount will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 05, 2014 at Pleasant Ridge Assembly of God Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mary Jo Taylor will officiate the services. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
