Harry L. Bigelow of Madison, Mississippi, died on August 31, 2013. He was born February 7, 1924, in Montgomery, Alabama to John H. and Birdie Ammons Bigelow.
After serving in the United States Navy during World War II, he attended the University of Alabama. Upon graduating, he was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company. He retired in 1987 with 38 years of service.
His wife of 50 years, Juanita Walker Bigelow, and his wife of 12 years, Nita Brown Bigelow, predecease him. He is survived by a large and loving family: his daughters, Linda Carlan of Salem, South Carolina, and Susan Awana and her husband, Kalei of Las Vegas, Nevada; son, Steve Bigelow and his wife Brenda of Seneca, South Carolina; son Mike Brown and his wife Carol of Madison, Mississippi; grandchildren Jim Bigelow and his wife Liz, Julie Goode and her husband Matt, Mary Pettit and her husband Jackson, Amy Bailey and her husband Matt, David Brown; and great grandchildren Nathan Goode, Scott Bigelow, and Alden and Jack Bailey.
Interment will be at Southern Heritage in Pelham, Alabama. There will be a visitation Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 9:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. in the Southern Heritage Chapel.
