Mr. Louis Henry Tumlin, 81, who had been under care at Southland Nursing Home in Peachtree City, Ga., died June 8, 2003 at the nursing facility.

He was born March 1, 1922 in Decatur, Ga. He was married Jan. 21, 1945 and worked for and retired from Complete Auto Transit in Lakewood Heights/ Atlanta, Ga. as a master mechanic and welder for 28 years during which he also ran and owned his own business, "Tumlin's Garage," in Lakewood Heights. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and a faithful follower of the Lakewood Baptist Church.

A funeral will be Tuesday, June 10 at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. Rev. Terry New officiating. Burial in Forest Lawn.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years Ruth Cheatwood Tumlin; sons, Ronald Louis, Wayne George, Jeffrey Lamar and daughter, Gayle Ruth; grandchildren Bryan, Scott, Adam, Steven, Melanie, Amelia; great-grandchildren Dustin, Nikki, Casey; brother, Lonnie "Pete" Tumlin; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Luther (Mattie Lee) Tumlin.
