SEVEN DROWN WHEN AUTO PLUNGES INTO FLOODED DITCH.
Palisade, Minn. (AP) - Seven members of the CYRIL KINGSLEY family, farmers near Palisade, drowned about noon Sunday when their car developed mechanical trouble and skidded into a ditch, filled with eight feet of water from recent heavy rains.
Mr. and Mrs. John Quast, who witnessed the accident, called authorities and pulled the car out with a tractor. Attempts at artificial respiration failed.
The victims were:
CYRIL KINGSLEY, 40;
his wife, BERTHA, 34;
and five of their six children, ELWIN, 9; ARDIS, 9; CECIL, 6; DAVID, 3; and ARDELL, 14 months.
