He was predeceased by his parents Janie Elma Burke and Edwin James Mitchell (a Baptist Preacher) and 3 brothers: a newborn Wilbur Naaman in 1946, 15-years-old Clyde Alvin Mitchell in 1950 in NM, and an older brother Miles David Mitchell in 2007.
As a Marine, he bravely served his country in the Korean Conflict.
