"The funeral of Charles Menzo Dibble was held Sunday, Aug. 28th, at the Presbyterian church at Carlisle, and interment was made in the Cobleskill Rural cemetery, Rev. Empie of Seward officiating. Deceased was born in Dibble Hollow 61 years ago, the son of Charles Dibble. He married Jane Rossman, daughter of Christopher Rossman. Five daughters came to the home, all of whom survive their parents. Their mother died about two and one-half years ago. The daughters are Mrs. Grant Jump of Lawyersville, Mrs. Arthur Arsenim of Carlisle, Mrs. Frank Akeley and Mrs. Albert Grey of Gloversville and Mrs. Burt Slater. Mr. Dibble had been a resident of the town of Fulton nearly all his life. He was a painter, carpenter and general mechanic. For a number of years past he resided at West Fulton and was held in high esteem. He was a member of the Methodist church, holding official positions in both church and Sunday school. He was very active in church work until stricken with erysipelas of the head several years ago, which weakened his will power. He also held several town official position and was justice of the peace at the time of his death. His former days of usefulness, his great hospitality and genial disposition won him a host of friends.
