Lionel L. Bassette, 65, of 98 Tower Td., Ludlow, died Monday at his home after a long illness.
He was dead on arrival at Ludlow Hospital. Born in Ludlow, Bassette lived many years in Indian Orchard and moved back to Ludlow 13 years ago. He was employed as a maintenance mechanic at Monsanto Co., 29 years and had recently retired. He was a member of the Monsanto 25-year club and the Ludlow Fish and Game Club. He leaves a son, Leo A. Bassette of Ludlow; a daughter, Mrs. Florence Houle of Indian Orchard, a brother, and eight grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday at Ratell funeral home followed by services in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
