Diane Nancy Bogenschuetz "Ma Bogie", of Sheboygan was welcomed into God's arms on Sunday, June 1, 2014. She was born May 8, 1937, daughter of the late Harold and Margaret Mollenhauer. She attended St. Dominic's school and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1955.
On May 12, 1956 she was united in marriage to Donald J. Bogenschuetz at St. Dominic's Catholic Church. Together they raised their four children, enjoyed watching their family grow, and they just celebrated 58 wonderful years of marriage.
In Diane's younger years, as she raised her children, she worked as a waitress at several restaurants, including Herziger's, Handrow's, Durward's Flamingo, The Yacht Club, and Nino's Steakhouse. She also worked at St. Nicholas Hospital and was a Stanley Product Dealer. Her dream was to travel. She became a travel agent at Halls Travel, then Security Travel, and eventually Discovery World Travel. This allowed Don and Diane to travel to many countries around the world. She was well known as a travel expert on Hawaii and Alaska, where she took many group trips.
Diane was very active. When she was younger, she played softball and was on a bowling team. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Parish, St. Ann's Society and volunteered for church functions. She spent many summers with her children at the Sheboygan Quarry and lots of walks through Evergreen Park. Diane was a chaperone on trips for the Accents Marching Group, she was a Girl Scout Leader, and coached baseball and softball teams. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren putting together puzzles, watching them play sports, and traveling with them. She was an avid sports fan, Packers, Badgers, Brewers, tennis, ice skating, etc. She was an owner of her beloved Green Bay Packers, even attending the famous Ice Bowl. She loved taking rides with her husband in the fall to see the beautiful colors, often ending at a casino.
She is survived by her husband, Donald, four children; grandchildren; step-grandsons; great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives. Besides her parents and in-laws, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Fred Boerger, brothers-in-law, Fred Kuehlmann, Leroy Bogenschuetz, and Donald Menzer.
