60, of Zionsville died on September 19, 2012 at home with her family by her side. She was born February 1, 1952 in Boston, MA to Aulikki and Kenneth Olsen. She graduated with a B.A from Seattle Pacific University and an M.A. from the University of Chicago. Ava was married to Edward Memmen on June 23, 1973. She is survived by her husband, three daughters and two grandchildren.
Ava was a long-time board member with several educational and non-profit institutions, including the Heartland Film Festival, which she co-founded. She enjoyed supporting and developing many organizations through her philanthropy and volunteering of her time. She also served as an elder at her church. Ava especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Services will held on September 29, 2012 at Zionsville Presbyterian Church. The calling will be held at 12:30pm followed by a memorial service at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, Ava has requested that memorial contributions be sent to the Heartland Film Festival.
