"29 Apr. 1881-Cambria Freeman, Cambria Co., Pennsylvania-Mr. Peter Adams, Sr., one of the oldest, best known and most respected citizens of Clearfield Twp., fell dead in his barn-yard on Sunday morning last, while engaged in feeding his stock, but from what cause we failed to learn, though we presume heart disease was to blame. The deceased was aged 79 years and 3 months, having been born in what was then a portion of Huntingdon County, but is now part of Cambria County. He was famous as a hunter in his young days, and probably killed as many, if not more, bears and other wild animals in his day than any other man in the county. May his soul rest in peace.'" transcribed by Terry Kruise
