Obituary of Raymond Tandy :

Pekin- Raymond Philmore Tandy, 81, of 104 Amanda St. formerly of 126 Brow Drive, East Peoria and Beardstown, died at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at Pekin Manor.

Born Aug. 26, 1922 in Beardstown to Edward Fillmore and Emma Mae Coon Tandy, he married Doris Jeanette Stock. She died Aug. 28, 1965.

He also was preceded in death by one grandson, one brother and two sisters.

Surviving are three daughters, Janet Gentry of Cheyenne, Okla., Patricia (and Charles) Martin of Granite, Okla., and Joy (and Garry) Jennings of Pekin; two sons, Terry (and Connie) of Washington and Tony of Sayre, Okla.; 18 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was a machinist in Building HH at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 21 years before retiring. He previously was a mail carrier for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad for six years and operated pool halls in several towns, including Beardstown and Virginia, Ill., for several years.

He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Beardstown.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. Robert Brite Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
