Geraldine N. Heckler (1931 - 2014)

OLEAN - Geraldine N. Heckler, of 307 N. First St., passed away Saturday (May 31, 2014) at the Olean General Hospital, following an illness.

Mrs. Heckler was born May 2, 1931, in Buffalo, and was the daughter of Charles and Florence Krolikowski Yahn. On Dec. 5, 1964, she married Clarence Heckler, who predeceased her May 2, 1969.

Mrs. Heckler received her LPN from JCC in Olean and BOCES in Ellicottville. She worked as an LPN in Salamanca for a short time. Geraldine then worked at the Linwood Center in Olean for about three years in the mid-1990s. Geraldine was a member of the New Apostolic Church. She enjoyed going to garage sales, watching wrestling, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and feeding small animals and birds.

Geraldine is survived by six children, Larry C. (Nancy) Stirling of Lancaster, Charles R. Stirling of West Seneca, Diana L. (Roger) Tharnish of East Aurora, Donna A. (Kirk) Breitenstein of West Milford, W.Va., Robert J. Heckler of Olean and Tony R. Orsini of Olean; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Mike (Kathy) Sader of Olean.

Along with her loving husband, Geraldine was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Burial will be at the Acacia Park Cemetery in North Tonawanda.
