Services will be 9 A.M. Friday, June 13, 2014 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with J. Kent Hickerson and Rev. Michael Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, IL. David was born May 21, 1952 the son of Creed Lee and Suzanne Kay (Perry) Ballenger. He married Cheryl Sears October 25, 1975 in Clinton, IL.
Survivors include his wife Cheryl Ballenger, Clinton, IL; mother: Suzanne Ballenger, Clinton, IL; children: Brian (Ashley) Ballenger, TX and Michael (Rachael) Ballenger, Clinton, IL; grandchildren: Breanna, Abbigale, Bryce and Makenna; siblings: Danny (Patty) Ballenger, Clinton, IL, Dennis (Becky) Ballenger, Heyworth, IL, Paula (Earl) Jiles, Clinton, IL; sister-in-law: Dianna Ballenger, Clinton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother: Walter Dale Ballenger, Sr.
David was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Clinton, IL, ESDA and USSSA. He enjoyed sports including baseball, slow pitch softball, wrestling, football and bowling. David also loved music, old muscle cars and gathering friends.
David lived for the time spent with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, deer rides and trips to Texas.
