Full Obituary: Genevieve Wright, 94,of Stearns, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the McCreary Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pine Knot, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Friday, January 1, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Brown and Bro. Eddie Miller officiating. Burial was in the Angel Cemetery. She was born November14, 1915 in Bloomington, Illinois to James Thomas Baker and Ethel Mounce Baker. Genevieve was a member of the Whitley City Second Baptist Church for over fifty years and was a member of the church choir. Before her retirement, she cooked at Stearns Elementary School. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, needlework, gardening, and caring for her family. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Virgil Jack Wright, whom she married September24, 1932 in Stearns, Kentucky, a son, Ronald Wright, a brother, Dwayne Baker, a sister, Audrey Creekmore, a grandson, Michael Hudson, and a great granddaughter,Stevie Rose Martin. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Chitwood and her husband, Earl, of Stearns, Kentucky and Bernice Ruth Hudson of San Antonio, Texas, two sons, James David Wright and his wife, Shirley, of Louisville, Kentucky and Jackie Wayne Wright and his wife,Ann, of Louisville, Kentucky, twelve grandchildren, Joe Hudson of San Antonio,Texas, Allen Hudson and his wife, Ruby, of San Antonio, Texas, Karen Wright Crenshaw and her husband, Barry, of Louisville, Kentucky, Beverly Wright Georgeand her husband, Brad, of Columbus, Ohio, Ronnie Wright and his wife, Tracy, of Somerset, Kentucky, Cindy Wright Jones, and her husband, Greg, of Somerset,Kentucky, Mary Beth Wright Miller and her husband, Tony, of Whitley City,Kentucky, Steve Martin and his wife, Rose, of Dryden, Virginia, Rick Martin and his wife, Debbie, of Macon, Georgia, Elaine Barnett Cardoza and her husband,Teddy, of Gallatin, Tennessee, Chris Wright and his wife, Sherry, of Louisville,Kentucky, and Wesley Wright and his wife, Amanda, of Louisville, Kentucky,twenty nine great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.
