Rudolph Ernest Jacob of Rosenberg died Feb. 27 at Colonial Nursing Home in Bellville, where he had lived for five years. He had been a resident of Rosenberg since 1939.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elnora Eckert Jacob, who died in May 1988.

Born Jan. 16, 1902, at the family home near Greenvine, he was 92 years old. His parents were Emil Jacob and Helene Schach Jacob. He attended Quane School near Round Top. He was baptized Sept. 14, 1902, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top and confirmed Jan. 16, 1916 at Bethlehem Lutheran. He was married Dec. 13, 1924, in Round Top. He was employed by Curtiss Candy Co.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rosenberg. Pastor Harvey Bongers will officiate, with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Rosenberg.

Survivors include his sisters: Gertrude Brau of Groves, Hildagard Fietz of Arlington, Helga Etzel of Carmine, Norma Weinert of Carmine and Rita Markwardt of Carmine; and two sisters-in-law: Laverna Jacob of Brenham and Ora Nell Matejowsky.

Pallbearers will be Paul Klare, Frank Eicher, Burney Deiss, Danny Ray Jacob, Randy Wayne Jacob and Terry Logan. John Marshall will be an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will begin 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rosenberg and continue until the service begins. The body will remain at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home until the morning of the funeral.
