this is a cenotaph; his remains are in Columbus, KY.

Tried finding William in any cemetery in Kentucky but could not find an entry. Looked for both Allanson and Allinson as a surname and came up with nada. Learned that he was named in his father's Last Will and Testament as a legatee after his mother, who was the beneficiary of her husband's estate, passed. The problem is William apparently died before his father.

Also checked for a Civil War battle taking place there and the only thing found was a state park and the fact that there were several battles taking place in that state but they all occurred in the 1861-1862 time frame. Nothing in 1864.

Looking for a source for the information that says he is buried in Kentucky. So far he never went to Kentucky at all. The parents came from England to New York and then to Illinois. The question remains as to why he would he have been in Kentucky in the first place. That's the million dollar question.
