DOROTHY MAY POLSON SMITH

The funeral of Dorothy May Smith, age 77 of Newman was held Saturday at 2 pm. at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. The Reverends Steve Estes and James E. Ostberg officiated with burial in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City.

Pallbearers were Jason Ostberg, Brett Yoder, Phillip Yoder, Chad Yoder, Kim Smith and Kevin Smith. Mrs. Smith died at noon Tuesday, 2-25-1992 at Northwestern Hospital, Tucson, AZ.

She was born 5-20-1914 at Russell Springs, KY, a daughter of Sam and Susan Long Polson.

She married Frank K. Smith on 10-22-1932 at Williamsport, Indiana and he survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Ronald of Arcola; Frank K., Jr. of Champaign; and Mikel A. Smith of Effingham; two daughters, Phyllis J. Yoder of Newman and Marilyn S. Ostberg of Virginia Beach, VA; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one brother, Luther Polson of Newcastle, Indiana.

One grandson, two sisters, and one brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Smith lived in the Newman area for 15 years and had previously lived in the Bloomington and Cooksville areas. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Tucson.
