Alfred L. Johnson, Forest Lake died in Bethesda Hospital Tuesday, June 26 after a short illness brought on by a heart condition. His age was 79 years, 11 months, and 11 days. Funeral service will be held in Faith Lutheran Church, Forest Lake at 2 pm today (Thursday) with Rev. Virgil Lundquist in charge. Music will be furnished by Vud and Vera Robinson. Burial will be in the Scandinavian Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kenny Johnson, Richard Hibbard, Laurence Johnson, David Hagford, Donald Hagford and Milton Nelson. Mr. Johnson was born at Coon Lake, in Anoka County, July 15, 1876, the son of Peter and Mary Johnson. He married Mathilda Gustafson October 13, 1900. Mr. Johnson farmed in Chisago County until he moved to Forest Lake in 1948. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Surviving are three sons and three daughters: Mrs. Mel (Violet) Swanson, Forest Lake; Mrs. Olaf (Mabel) Hagford, Minneapolis; Clarence Johnson, Forest Lake; Mrs. Martin (Myrtle) Lindberg, St. Paul; Arnold and Edgar Johnson, Minneapolis. There are also 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and two daughters.
