Timothy Lee Layton, 42, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 10, 2014. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Ann Layton. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Layton; one daughter, Chloe Layton; father, Bo Jack Layton (Bobbi); 3 brothers, Paul (Brandy) Layton, Clark (Michelle) Layton and Jeff Layton; seven nieces and nephews, Andrew Layton, Amanda Keene, Scooter Layton, Tyler Layton, Jessica Layton, Jennifer Whitley and Jeremy Layton. Lee Layton was an incredible person who loved spending time with his family. He loved grilling and baking and sharing it with others. He was a fun, happy, loving man, who loved life. He loved to laugh and play pranks. Lee worked as a butcher for 18 years at Smiths Grocery in Vincent then worked as an RN for the last six years at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham in the medical ICU and with the Vascular Access team. A special thanks to the employees of St. Vincent's Birmingham for showing such amazing love and support to Lee and his family, a true exemplary of Christian love. A special thanks to the PICC team as well as the medical intensive care units. Viewing will be at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church on Thursday, June 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church on Friday, June 13 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation from 2 to 3. Interment will be in Valley Hill Memorial Cemetery.
