ISAAC FRED DALE DIES IN PRENTISS

Funeral Will Be Friday Morning

PRENTISS - Funeral services for Isaac Fred Dale, 61, prominent civic leader and wealthy merchant who died in a local hospital late Wednesday night of a heart ailment will be held from the First Baptist Church Friday at 10 o'clock. The Rev. William O. Carter, retired Baptist minister of Silver Creek, assisted by Dr. D. M. Nelson, president of Mississippi College, will officiate.

He was a member of the Baptist church, navy veteran of World War I, former cashier of the Bank of Blountsville, and Mayor of Prentiss, and was educated in the schools of the county, Clark College and graduated from Mississippi College in 1913.

During his active life he made an invaluable contribution to the welfare of the county and community farming. Without his financial help and advise many small farmers both white and colored might have failed to provide the bare necessities of life for themselves and families. Among his many lovable traits were his deep affection for his family and friends. Generous by nature and charitable beyond the average, he gave generously to further the spread of Christian concepts of living and education. He was keenly interested in the progress of his home town, good government and child welfare. The town, county and state has suffered an irreparable loss in the untimely death of this outstanding citizen.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Willard Livingston Dale; two sons, Joseph Dale, prominent local attorney and member of the state Gas and Oil Board, and Dr. David B. Dale, staff member of Charity hospital, New Orleans; one daughter, Bettye Dale Touchstone, Rocky Mount, North Carolina; four brothers, Reggie E. Dale, Paul A. Dale, Robert Budd Dale, Prentiss, and S. S. Dale, Jr., Columbus; four sisters, Mrs. B. G. Walden, Sr., Prentiss, Mrs. Wood A. Polk and Mrs. H. R. Johnson, Columbia and Mrs. E. L. Gulledge, Crystal Springs; three grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be Clarance Griffith, S. M. Coulter, Sr., J. T. Rush, Ralph Baylis, Earl Wilson, R. C. Williams, Jr., Hance Polk, Prentiss and Robert Gandy, Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Smith, R. C. Williams, Sr., Harlos Everitt, A. J. Stamps, V. B. Garraway, F. A. Parker, I. V. Saulters, Kirby Thompson and W. T. Lipsey.

Burial will be in the City Cemetery with Waldens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
