MRS. JNO. H. WILLIAMS SUCCUMBS

Unable to Overcome Trouble She
Was Taken With Last Tuesday

On Wednesday night, October 23, 1912, at 10:30 death claimed Mrs. Sarah Brinson Williams, wife of the late Jno. H. Williams of Prentiss. Her death was rather sudden, yet not altogether unexpected. Her family had been somewhat apprehensive of her condition for some time. She died from gall stones with which trouble she had been a constant sufferer more or less for five years. She was operated on for this trouble about two months ago, and for a while seemed to be improving, but her improvement was not such as to give her relief.

Funeral services will be conduced by Rev. J. B. Quin, pastor of the Baptist church, at the home tomorrow (Friday) morning at 10:30, after which the body will be carried to the family cemetery here for interment.

About fifty-four years ago she was married to John H. Williams and they were permitted to live together about fifty-one years. He died July 4, 1909, leaving her a sad widow for three years. There were born to them seven children, six of whom still live; three sons, I. H. Williams of Wesson, Miss.; A. G. and H. H. Williams of Prentiss, and three daughters, Mesdames S. S. Dale, Prentiss, J. M. Dampeer of Crystal Springs, and L. D. Dickerson of McComb City. Mrs. Williams was seventy-four years old. She had lived to a good ripe old age.

She gave her heart to God and became a christian early in life and was baptized into the fellowship of the Baptist church, and has lived a worthy christian life ever since. She was a devoted member of the Prentiss Baptist church. She was a friend to her pastor and always enjoyed his visits, and heard him preach as much as possible -she attended services last Sunday morning. She was a devoted wife and affectionate mother. Her worthy children may "Rise up and call her blessed" because of her true love and service to them. She was a good neighbor and will be greatly missed, not only in her home, but by her neighbors, community, church and pastor.

We mourn her death and would not have it so if it could be otherwise and meet divine approval, but our Heavenly Father knew best. Therefore he took her home to be with her companion who preceeded her three years. We bow in humble submission knowing that she is better off, for she was ready to go. She would not come back were she permitted, her happiness is too great. Suffering is no longer known to her. She is where sorrow, pain and death are not known. So, we would say to the bereaved ones; weep not hopelessly, mother is waiting, only waiting for your coming. You may meet her in the beyond, which will mean an eternal dwelling together.
