"John Baptiste Brognard, (1761-1823), enlisted in the Grenadiers in the corps of Foreign volunteers, 1778, under Due de Lauzun. He had studied medicine and was detailed to surgeon's duty in this famous legion which was complimented by Washington for its brilliant service. He was born in France; died in Columbus, N.
