Born in Kansas, Mr. Mitchell came to Phoenix in 1907. He formerly worked in the freight department of the Southern Pacific Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha; two sons, William T., of Phoenix, and Walter W., of Rosemead, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Mike Katich, of Phoenix and Mrs. J.E. Day and Mrs. Pete Cornaggia, both of Cowchilla, Calif.' a brother and sister out of state, 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The Rev. A.R. Snipes will conduct services at 2p.m. tomorrow in Grimshaw Mortuary, 334 W. Monroe. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Memorial Park.
