Nancy Barker Partain, 91, of Carrollton, Texas, went home to join her Lord and Savior June 10, 2014. She was born July 11, 1922 in Dublin to F.P. and Clara Southall Barker.
Nancy retired as a registered nurse after many years in the medical field. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Dallas. In her earlier years, Nancy was very active in many community organizations including the Dallas AARP and Dallas Museum of Art. She volunteered with the Veteran's Administration and the Dallas Women's Shelter for many years. She found happiness in helping those in need. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, D. Mack Partain; nieces, Dannye Dove, Sheila McClure, Dawn Lagrone and Helen Adams; nephews, Blake Norred and Nolin Norred; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and other extended family.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, F.P. and Clara Barker; brothers, Pace Barker and Ennis Barker; sisters, Frankie Ely, Johnnie Norris, Dess Norred and Anne Brown.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, June 13, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in Round Grove Cemetery with Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating.
