Rodney Jason Abshire loved hunting, fishing, motorcycles, tattoos, Dale Earnhardt #3, and anything with the confederate flag on it. He was a self-taught guitarist. One of his favorite bands was Metallica. When he played their songs, you couldn't tell the difference between the two. Jason was an avid hunter and fisherman. He once killed a large 8-point buck with a bow, right across the hill from our parents' house in Dunbar when he was 13. He loved going hunting with his family so much. Many a late night was spent fishing along the river in Dunbar. Actually there were a lot of all-nighters when it came to fishing!

Motorcycles were something that kept Jason's attention also. He had dirt bikes from the time he was little, up until he was old enough to ride his brother-in-law's Harley. He always wanted to get his own Harley. Jason absolutely loved his nephews; especially Damon. He would spend a fortune at Kid Country buying only the best of toys for his little buddy. Damon was actually the one who got the whole "Ga Ga" nickname started for Jason.

Jason was very devoted to his friends too. He helped one friend move several states away once. He had such a great time! Jason had his whole life ahead of him. He was so young. I just wish his nephews and nieces could remember him like I do. I just know...when it's our time... he will be standing there... with his cowboy hat and boots on...with that big smile across his face...saying..."What took you so long?"
