William A. Knowles
William Albert Knowles, 83, a native of Dexter, [Maine] passed away at his home in Lacon, Mass., Monday, October 8, after a long illness. He was born in Dexter, February 12, 1862, the son of Thomas Bakes and Margaret Holmes Knowles. He went to Lacon when a young man and was employed as a weaver for the greater part of his adult life.
He was united in marriage to Josephine Thompson of Lacon in 1897. For a fifteen year period he and his wife lived in Great Falls, Montana, but returned to Lacon in 1932 and have since made their home there.
He leaves his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Eva K. Knapton, of New Bedford, Mass. and Mrs. Etta Campbell, of Naugatuck,,Conn., a niece, Mrs. Harry Kane of Waterbury, Conn., and a nephew, Donald, Rowell of Lowell, Mass.
Burial was in Lacon cemetery with Masonic services.
Lacon is in Illinois and not Mass.
