Herrin - Bobby George Robinson, 73 died at 1:10 am Saturday, November 29, 1997 in Herrin Hospital. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home is in charge and burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery. Mr. Robinson was a retired coal miner and last worked at the Zeigler No. 11 mine at Coulterville. He belonged to the American Legion, Herrin Second Baptist Church and was a World War II veteran.
He was born October 9, 1924 in Marion to Ray B. and Nola R. Dugger Robinson. He married Mary L. Lee on August 21, 1949 in Pocahontas AR and she died September 20, 1996. Survivors include son, Robert H. Robinson of Herrin, 2 grandchildren and a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and JoAnn Robinson of Vancouver WA. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Billy Robinson.
