She was born in Salem and lived in Salem most of her life, moving from Dallas three years ago. She worked in retail sales and managed her family’s cafe, The Cozy Corner, in Monmouth for two years. She collected antiques and jewelry and enjoyed gem shows and her pet potbellied pig.
Survivors include her companion, Ken Stevens of Salem; son, Michael Burgess of Tigard; stepdaughter, Vanessa Stevens of Salem; parents, Isabelle and Jack Schneider Sr. of Salem and Les and Pat Peterson of Dallas; sisters, Terry Vanderhout of Salem, Jerri Lewis of Tualatin and Lorie Wagner of Nehalem; brothers, Jack Schneider Jr. of Italy, John Peterson of Lincoln City, Hank Bethell of Stayton and Jeff Peterson of Murrieta, Calif.; and grandparents, Dessie Bryant of Dallas and Henry George of Sublimity.
Services will be private. Entombment will be at Belcrest Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors.
