Claire Biggs, born January 21st, quite a few years ago, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday afternoon, June 12, 2014. Claire was born in Troy, AL, the daughter of the late John J. Collins and Grace Sellers Collins. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John S. Collins. Her immediate family includes her husband, Neil A. Biggs; her daughter, Grace Thomas (Mark); grandsons, Preston Thomas (Kylie) and Chandler Thomas; Neil's sons, Steve (Nancy), Wayne (Debbie), Mark (Kim), and Neil's daughter, Cathy Carter (David); along with Neil's seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Gene Nieves; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Claire had always been active in church and had been blessed with the gift of administration. In years past, she had served as president of the Women of the Church of Mecklenburg Presbytery. As a member of Central Church, she had served as Director of Primetimers for 14 years. A celebration of Claire's life will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, June 17, 2014, in the sanctuary of Central Church, 5301 Sardis Rd., Charlotte, NC 28270. The family will gather following the service to greet friends.
