MANCHESTER, MD Helen LaRue Eppley, 82, died peacefully at Long View Nursing Home June 16, 2014. Born in Hampstead, Md., on November 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John and Lulu Alban and the wife of the late Kenneth Eppley, who died in 2005. She retired from Black and Decker in 1987. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a member of the North Carroll Senior Center and the Manchester Ladies Auxiliary to the Manchester Fire Department, where she had served as Chaplain. Her hobbies included reading, traveling, bingo and she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was a loyal Orioles and Ravens fan. Mrs. Eppley is survived by her children, Judy Bixler of Hanover, Pa., Cindy Ganjon and husband Erich of Westminster, Md., Gary Eppley of Manchester, Md., and Randy Eppley and wife Karen of Georgia, Vt.; eight grandchildren, Bryan Bixler, Meghan Lee, Toby and Timothy David, Benjamin and Andrew Eppley and Morgan and Christian Eppley; and three great-grandchildren, Trent David, and Ava and Daphne Lee. She is also survived by four sisters, Dorothy Tawney, Betty Bannon, Peggy Stuffle and husband Louis, Ruth Sterner; two brothers, Thomas Alban and wife Mary, and Norman Alban and wife Dorothy. She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy David and a granddaughter, Anna Eppley.

Burial will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery.
