He was born in Glasgow, KY, on October 20, 1936, the son of Milton and Sarah F. (Williams) Vance, and raised in Columbus, IN. He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church in Lewisport, served in the US Army for 10 years during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War and retired in 1988 from Southwire. He also enjoyed playing music for the elderly in local rest homes and working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, 2 sons, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Columba Catholic Church, with burial in Lewisport Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8:30 p.m. Sunday and from 8-10:30 a.m. Monday at Taylor-Raymond-Spear Funeral Home. Prayers will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
