Joe E. Armijo, 82, born Oct. 14, 1917, in Ocate, N.M., went to be with his Lord Feb. 23, 2000. Survived by beloved wife of 58 years, Rosalie Armijo; children, Josephine (Frank) Scalese, Dolores (J. Lawrence) Montoya, Ed (Irene) Armijo, John (JoAnn Medina) Armijo and George (Carlo) Armijo; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; stepmother, Mary Armijo; brother, Sam (Helen) Armijo; sisters, Esther DeHerrera, Lillian (Ted) Trujillo, Julia (Emilio) Cordova, Fabiola (Steve) Anderson, Bertha Armijo and Cecilia (Jim) Metz, all of New Mexico; sister, Virginia (Gilbert) Garcia of Pueblo; special friend, Baltazar (Jenny) Avila; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Sanchez and John Tafoya, all of New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Jose Isaac and Beatrice Armijo; infant son, David; brother, Ted Armijo, and sisters, Escolastica Tafoya, Elsie Sanchez and Cleo Sanchez. Mr. Armijo served in the U.S Army during World War II, European Theatre of Operations and North Africa with General George Patton. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Parish, VFW No. 61 and Nocturnal Adoration Society. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and we will miss his powerful guidance and patience. Viewing, 1 to 5 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Rosary, 7 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Saturday. Both services at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.
