Rosemary Hewitt Purcell, 78, passed away at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, N.J. on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012. Interment was private. Rosemary, born in Elizabeth, N.J., was a longtime resident of Chatham Township, N.J., and moved to Basking Ridge, N.J., seven years ago. She attended Newcomb College of Tulane University and graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor of arts degree in English and musicology. Rosemary was a dedicated mother and loving wife and was passionate about making a difference in other people's lives. She is survived by her loving husband, Leo; son, Leo III; and daughter, Cynthia. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Liberty Corners EMT or the American Cancer Society.
