Lorraine M. Bair, 76, of Mansfield, died early Tuesday morning, September 4, 2001, at Mifflin Care Center. She was born October 2, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York, to Lamar K. and Cecelia A. Engert Baxter. Lorraine was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and was retired as a clerk with Read More Book Store.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Susan Bair of Mansfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn and Jerry Coder of Danville, California and Deborah and Doug Metcalf of Delaware, Ohio; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Connie and John Bishop of Hawaii; and one brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Sue Baxter of Columbus, Ohio. Her parents, Lamar and Cecelia Baxter and her son, Russell Bair all preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, September 6 from 6-8 p.m. Vigil services will be held at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Friday at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association or Catholic Charities.
