Funeral services for longtime Dove Creek resident, James Franklin "Jack" Medley were held Saturday, October 20, 2001 at the Dove Creek First Assembly of God Church, with interment in the Dove Creek Cemetery.
Jack was born in Quinlan TX on May 28, 1908, the son of Robert Franklin and Ila Zee (Williams) Medley. He passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez CO on Tuesday, October 16, 2001. He was 93 years old at the time of his death.
Ruby Mae Toles became Jack's bride on April 15, 1933 in Monticello UT. To this union four children were born, Bruce, Clinton, Shirley and Carol. Jack enjoyed farming and growing pinto beans. He aslo loved old cars, and his time spent with family and friends.
Jack is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruby medley of Dove Creek; children Clinton (Charlene) Medley of Cahone CO, Shirley (Jerry) Dennison of Dolores CO, and Carol (Dave) Martinez of Williams AZ; nieces and neophews that he and Ruby raised, Alva, Nita, Ann and Carl Toles; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren: two sisters, Lorene Ford of Agra OK, and Evalene (Bob) Goodnight of Floydada TX. Preceding Jack in death was his son Bruce Medly, daughter-in-law Nerita Medley and granddaughters Mirissa and Patty.
