"JAMES ELLIS KILLED
James Ellis, a brakeman on the west end local freight, was struck by a water spout at the tank at Grand Saline last night. He was being brought to the hospital, but died at Hallsville.
His remains were carried to the residence of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Foster, near Marvin Chapel. He quit the New Orleans division about two weeks ago, where he broke behind for Sam Ecbelson. His family lives at Jewella, and came up on a local to-day.
He will be buried to-morrow morning at 9 o'clock from the residence of W. E. Foster to Greenwood cemetery."
