From the 1/18/1940 Fort Wayne, Indiana, Journal-Gazette: "Decatur, Jan 17 - Ward Acheson, 56, well-known restaurant proprietor of Willshire, O., died at the Adams County Memorial Hospital in this city this morning. Death was attributed to complications which developed after an appendix operation performed Sunday. He had operated a restaurant in Willshire for a number of years. Surviving besides the widow, Bernice, are a brother, Ira of Van Wert, O., and a sister, Mrs. Logan Wolf of Willshire."
