Gertrude Crenek, 86, peacefully passed away on June 20, 2014. Gertrude was born on September 26, 1927, in Nada, Texas, to John and Emelie Popp. She was the beloved wife and best friend of her husband of 64 years, Edgar L. Crenek. Gertrude was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was an active member of St. Helen Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She and Edgar enjoyed many years as members of Po.L.K.of A. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alfred Popp; son, Robert Crenek; and granddaughter, Lauren Crenek. She is survived by her husband, Edgar; sisters, Bridget and Madeline Popp; daughter, Judy Brandt; son, Gary Crenek and wife Tammie; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Gertrude Crenek to Saint Mary's Catholic Church Fund, PO Box 97, Nada, Texas, 77460.

A Visitation and Rosary for Gertrude will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm with Deacon Darvin Bordelon officiating. The Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the church with Father Wayne Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, TX.
