Mrs Mary E. Calvert, 48, of 1912 Pierce, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at her home. She had been a resident of Houston 20 years. She was a member of the Christian Science Church and was corresponding secretary for the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Oran M. Roberts Chapter 440, which was named for her grandfather. Surviving are her husband, William Calvert; a daughter, Miss Ruth Calvert; a son, Thomas William Calvert; a sister, Mrs Bobbie Cook of San Antonio; two brothers, Allen and Oba Roberts, both of Austin. Services at 5 p.m. Friday in the drawing room of Geo H. Lewis & Co. with August J. Husmann reading the service. Burial in Hollywood Cemetery. Active pallbearers: Arthur Koberling, Jr., Ernest G. Schelling, Reigh Waltson, B. B. Letney, Bert G. Taylor, Victor C. Williams, Geo. H. Lewis & Company in charge. Members of Oran M. Roberts Chapter U. D. C. 440, will serve as honorary escorts.
