Other survivors include his mother, two sons, Keith (Becky) Tarvin and David Wayne Tarvin, three grandsons, a stepdaughter, Pamela Sue Metcalf, a stepson, Benjamin Franklin Ramsey, two brothers, Raymond Tarvin and William Tarvin and a sister, Pauline Washburn.
He was preceded in death by his father and three half brothers, Ralph, Richard and Robert Tarvin.
Also preceding him in death was a grandson, Dustin Tarvin.
Mr. Tarvin was a member and past master of Heyworth Lodge 251 AF & AM; a member of the Bloomington Scottish Rite bodies; Mohammed Temple Shrine, Peoria; and the McLean County Shrine Club. He served on the Shrine all-star football committee, circus committee and greeters. He was a former member of the Shrine Tin Lizzie Patrol. He was a member of the American Passion Play cast since 1987. Mr. Tarvin enjoyed fishing, football, basketball and camping.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Tarvin was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1253, Augusta, Maine. He had worked as a construction electrician for 38 years before retirement. For the past two years, he was a bus driver for Normal Unit School District 5.
